Over the weekend we enjoyed camping and spending time with family for our Annual Family Reunion in Mineral Wells, Tx. Mineral Wells State Park is a lovely place with lots of trees, wildlife and rock formations. They also have some pretty crafty raccoons that will eat your lunch and dinner right out of the ice chest. Even duct tape doesn’t seem to slow down those little critters. Just ask a couple of family members.
Even though the temperature was quite toasty we enjoyed taking the time to enjoy the little things. Things we don’t seem to take time for during the week. From early morning coffee while bird watching, fishing, watching the deer frolicking in the woods to visiting with family members. It seems we have lost so many that were precious to us over the past several years. I found myself longing for the days when I could visit with my mother, grandmother, my brother, aunts, uncles and many cousins that have gone before us. What I would give for one more hug. Tomorrow is not promised to any one of us. I am so blessed that I was able to see my family and I pray each of them know how precious they are to me.
